Tonight is the longest night of the year. For many years I’ve had this idea to arrange an unofficial solstice night event. I imagine people decking themselves out with as many lights as they can possibly attach to themselves and then going out to the Greenbelt to walk/scoot/ride/sit/…

I think it’d be really cool to see everyone out on the deepest, darkest night with all the flashing and blinking lights everywhere; kind of symbolic that we’ve overcome the cold and dark, and we’re still full of light that will sustain us while the long nights start to steadily recede.
