So I work in a call center type job.

I had a client call me and he was trying to get to a certain department and asked me to transfer him. So no biggie I go to transfer him.

5 mins later he calls me back…laughing his ass off and he said “Bro I wanted billing not the suicide hotline”

I check sure as shit I transfered him to the suicide hotline.

Ok I apologize hes a good sport. I transfer him to billing.

Then apparently when he got to billing he got to Veronica. Veronica is married to the manager of QA. My customer tells Veronica in a joking way that I sent him to the suicide hotline.

So Veronica tells her Husband. Her Husband pulls my call, sends it to my manager.

My manager pulls me aside and we have a 1 on 1. At first he acted like I had really fucked up and I was in trouble. I really dont feel like getting written up for transferring someone to the suicide hotline. Then he starts laughing and telling me it’s good.

Now apparently IT has been notified and apparently the transfer protocol for suicide hotline is going be changed cause I guess I’m not the only dumbass.

O yea sometimes we get clients who are suicidal out of the 10,000+ calls ive had ive never had it happen to me.

TL:DR I fucked up by transferring my client to the suicide hotline
