Crankset for bicycle touring?
my question is what would you do for gearing for bicycle touring?
When I got my Surly LHT 26in 52cm 2008 on 11-2008. and My Surly LHT Crankset was the
Sugino 9 Speed 170mm 26-36-48t 74/110mm Crankset with Shimano UN54 110mm
JIS BB Set. and I removed the Sugino Crankset for the Dimension/Andel RSC6 110mm Crank Arm Set, 110/74MM BCD,170mm Black same crankset that is on the new Surly LHT/DT.
and Chain Rings that I used was Raceface 9-Speed Team Chainring Set, 110/74mm BCD 24-34-46 Black and in 2015 I seen the Racerace Team 9-speed no longer sold at online bike shops. and Then is when I ordered the Shimano Deore Crankset 64/104mm bcd 24-32-42t and I replaced Shimano Chain Rings for the Race Face Turbine 10/9 Speed Chainrings 24-32-42t and I replaced the 24t granny gear for 22t Raceface. and I am really happy with 22-32-42t for Bicycle Touring on my Surly LHT 26in 52cm 2008 Touring Bicycle. and I have saved the Shimano 10/9 speed Chain Rings. and I see the Raceface Turbine has the Raceface Turbine 9/10 speed 22-32-42t Chain Ring Set for Sale. and 1 day I will upgrade to 3X10 Have parts. and I don’t like the Crankset wars to Shimano is doing! and I might go back Dimension/Andel RSC6 110mm Crank Arm Set, 110/74MM BCD,170mm Black and Dimension/Andel 110/74mm BCD 24-34-46 Black and Shimano UN55 BB Set 68MM X 118mm? and I sold my old Crankset and BB Set and BB Tools
I am 53yrs now and I can stock up on 9 Speed Chain Rings from Raceface Turbine 22-32-42t 9/10 speed X 2 Sets
Note I was thinking about the Shimano Sora R3030 9-Speed 110/74mm bcd 170mm Crankset with my Hope BB Set and Chain Rings 24-34-46t 110/74mm bcd
Thanks Tim
