I recently moved to a new city and my colleague from work was kind enough to let me try his electric moped (max speed 50km/h). It was a stunning day, and I thought of exploring the city streets. Little did I know that my decision would lead me to one of the scariest and most dangerous moments of my life.
I wasn’t familiar with the local roads or traffic patterns, and I was getting more confident as I drove around the city. As I drove down one of the main streets, I realized I needed to take a left turn. Unfortunately, the traffic was so heavy that I couldn’t change lanes, so I continued straight ahead.
As I drove, I noticed the long and dark tunnel in front of me. I had no other option but to continue because there was no lane to stop, turn around, or exit. So, I went straight through the tunnel, not realizing what came next.
As I drove, I noticed that things were getting scary. The tunnel was creeping me out, and I wasn’t sure where I was going. But just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I found myself driving onto a highway! I was driving at a high speed on a moped, surrounded by cars and trucks zooming past me. It was one of the most nerve-wracking moments of my life. People were screaming at me to get out of the way, honking their horns as I drove along. My heart raced with fear, and it has been a while since I had never felt so vulnerable.
I drove for what seemed like an eternity, but it was only a few minutes when I finally saw a disconnection road, and I quickly made the turn. I got off the highway, and my body shook with relief.
TL;DR I mistakenly continued driving in a lane that led me straight to a highway.
