Cloud capabilities that customers doesn’t pay for being shut down is not surprising.

What is surprising though is people acting all surprised thay free, as in free beer, has a best before date that they are in no way in control of.

… And people think I’m UFO because I don’t want to buy home automation products where parts/all of the functionality require cloud services.

We live in a time where it’s impossible to buy mainstream computers that offers less than billions of clock cycles and memory bytes. With this in mind it’s hard to see the true benefits of most devices the require cloud services.
