Was looking for some insoles that would give a little more cushion when cycling and decided to order a few different pairs.
Tried out a few and at first step, the ones with “4D Cloud Technology” looked like a clear winner: nice and cushy and they felt pretty good on a ride.
First sign of potential trouble: despite being more cushy, I felt a little heel pain when driving where more of my weight was focused pivoting on my heel.
End of Day 2: I started noticing knee pain – presumably because the extra soft cushioning made them a little less stable than what I was used to.
Day 3: I’d stopped wearing them, but was left with knee pain whenever I went down stairs: right when I was ready to head on vacation… to a small island full of stairs.
Day 3-5: Lots of steps, lots more pain than I had expected on vacation. Had to opt out from a few activities with my kids that involved more extensive climbing.
Day 6: back home and everything seems to be roughly back to normal now.
TL/DR: got cheap insoles that were too soft / unstable, had knee pain that disrupted vacation
