Back in 05-06ish, i went to a book signing with Steve Squyres for his “Roving Mars” book. I don’t remember a whole lot of it because I was only about 8, but during the presentation he showed an animated video of how the RAT (Rock Abrasion Tool) was supposed to work, alongside a joke version they’d made. The joke video showed the rover approach a rock, make contact with the tool, then had the entire rover spin like a loony toons bit, complete with a wheel flying off to bounce out of frame. I can’t seem to find that video anywhere and I’m wondering if anyone has seen it to confirm I’m not crazy or even better, has the video or a link to it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and I’ll edit this post to include a link if i should find or get the clip itself.
