I often hear stories (either blog posts or videos) about how much of a nightmare working in Dubai is; economically and socially. I also hear how Dubai employs near-slave labor for many of their low-paying jobs. Yet, it makes me wonder why so many people – mostly from countries such as India, Thailand and Philippines – are willing to work there, despite how bad it is. Are the risks all worth the money, or are they simply uninformed enough when making the decision?

Because extreme poverty in other countries is even worse. Children literally have no clothes and beg for garbage in the street, or die from eating dirt.
