I’ve seen reports over the last few years that fertility rates in the West are on the decline. I’m at the age where a lot of my peers are having children and anecdotally a lot of them have had fertility issues with a couple of them considering IVF in their late 20s/early 30s.

Additionally (and again, anecdotally) I’ve also noticed that a lot of my peers have had complications during pregnancy or while giving birth. Is this backed up by any studies and if so is there a working theory on the causes?
