Hi folks, I’m just getting started on a project for a friend, and I know the result will be similar to a commercial project (but definitely with different goals in mind).

I’m keen to avoid infringing their patents, but am not sure where to look to find what patents they hold. Does anyone have any recommendations for finding details on patents and navigating this in open source projects?
