Forgive me, I’m not good with the Reddit post links.

So I’ve been pretty annoyed with the company after my interaction with HR last Friday. Truth be told, I’m telling everybody about it and their lies about breaking their promises to plant staff about their raises next year. I’m still doing my job but I have been showing up for ONLY my 8 hrs and have cancelled all my volunteered for additional duties, since I’m told they don’t count towards getting a wage increase.

Perhaps I’m dwelling on it too much but it is effecting my performance. While working on a downed machine, I was in my thoughts and someone told me I had an order in that I had completely forgot about. I began to wonder what other things I perhaps forgot about and remembered that HR had put in a request to redo her office with newer furniture and layout. At the time, she was new to the company and I was just being friendly and had no objections. Facilities is my responsibility and I could oblige without any incident from higher ups.

I had gotten the P.O. placed and realized, I hadn’t received the furniture items. I contacted the manufacturer and asked if they had shipped it out yet and they told me no, so I had them cancel the order. I then contacted purchasing and asked them to please cancel the P.O. as I would be going a different route since the manufacturer said there were delays in shipping.

Queue the Malicious Compliance: I then emailed HR and said, “Unfortunately, the manufacturer is unable to fulfill your new office furnishings. There’s delays in shipping and it will be a while before they can get it out. Since I know money is tight, I went ahead and just cancelled the P.O… Your office is currently setup with everything you need to successfully accomplish your job at the moment, so it shouldn’t hinder your job in any way. Maybe address it again for next year’s budget.”
