My car was stolen a few days ago. Right after it was stolen they took the car to a nearby park and dumped out everything in the car including the air filter(?) floor mats, cargo liner etc. They even ripped out the wireless charging module for some reason. I’m thinking that they were looking for something, possibly the AirTag. I had already taken the beeper out of it. It was well hidden and they never ended up finding it. We were also able to find the car later and catch one of the thieves partially due to the AirTag which later updated its location.
Could the AirTag have alerted them that it’s following them even without it updating its location on my end on find my? I can’t figure out why they were searching the car if it didn’t alert them about it?
