I’m looking for a beside device for our guests to control key HA features of the room/house (good night/morning button, temperature, bedroom/hallway lights).

Wishlist for this device:

  • can show a Lovelace dashboard.
  • dims properly at night (like Google Nest, most tablets too strong brightness still)
  • is intuitive to wake up (like Google Nest just tap, no double taps or power button)
  • runs Fully Kiosk or sth similar
  • is easy to set up/install
  • no camera (but ideally sensor for light/movement detection)

Some sub par solutions I found so far:

  • Lenovo Smart Clock 2. Must be hacked (making some native buttons less intuitive), screen on the small side (lowres), otherwise perfect form factor.
  • Google Nest Hub. Screen perfect, streaming Lovelace not stable, using native home control too limited (and requires swiping from the top, which people may not know)
  • Lenovo Tablet with dock. Has camera and needs it for movement detection, requires double tap when screen is off (not intuitive for everyone), too bright if screen stays on with Fully Kiosk (to avoid double tap).

Any suggestions would be great!
