I used the search bar and did have a good read of camping in this sub however my question is a bit more specific.

I love the outdoors and have recently got into camping, just with a swag. I want to go solo camping however, I am a bit concerned for my safety.

I want places which are within a 3 hour drive of Perth, accessible by my Ford Focus, either close to the beach or good hiking trails and safe for women who is camping solo. My plan is to go away on a Friday after work and head back home Sunday.

My friends aren’t into camping so until I make friends who want to go camping my only option I can see is me going solo.

Sleeping in the swag isn’t the most secure option but I really do love sleeping outdoors so I want to overcome my fears but I also want to be safe as I have seen some horrible news stories of female campers being assaulted.

I’ll be so grateful for any tips as I’m a beginner!
