I was playing Third Strike. I wanted to branch away from the Shotos and try something different. I chose Alex because he always stood out to me. I looked up his Super Combo Page and he turned out to be a grappler. I did some practicing before trying him out in some matches. I got wrecked. 1. I’m not good at the game and 2. I’m playing a character I barely understand. However, let me say that Alex was an experience. Landing a Command Grab was a good feeling. However, I sort of understand them a bit better. However, doing 360s sucks. I’m just going to switch to a different super.
Surprisingly, when I played Ken, games were a lot more aggressive. But with Alex, it’s much more neutral heavy. There’s this back and forth downtime. I think it’s because they know coming in close is a huge risk when fighting a grappler (before they figure out I’m bad at the game), so there’s this hesitant neutral/footsies situation where we keep trying to poke each other and wait for the other to fuck up.
So, I would like to apologize to Grappler mains and the Slander I’ve thrown at them.
