Went to watch Civil War at WEM in IMAX today for the early screening and during the movie, seems like a girl asked a guy to put his phone away and the guy just lost it on her and her boyfriend. He proceeded to stand up and threaten to fight both of them. The couple left then and usher came and the scene causer got kicked out. His friend he was with apologized and then left shortly after. I was sitting in the very back and this happened 2 rows in front of me so I could hear and see it all.

It was pretty interesting seeing a guy stand up in the theatre ready to throw hands but please if you’re going to constantly check your phone to the point someone asks you to put it away, don’t be a dick to them. If you want to go on your phone during a movie, best stay home.

People who come to movies like this want to be fully immersed as we’re paying to enjoy a film. The cinema should be a place to take a break from our phones.

Not the first time I’ve seen bad phone etiquette in a theatre and probably won’t be the last sadly.
