So per my username, I order a bunch of car parts pretty regularly.
Generally, they are required to have signature on delivery, generally as a value thing.
I know Australia post, once the parcel is over a certain value with insurance, they need a signature on delivery (so this costs more too)
But…I haven’t been asked to sign a parcel in years, Australia Post, Aramex, Couriers Please, DHL, etc always simply deliver the parcel and sign for it on my behalf.
I’ve never had to dispute one, because I have a good safe place to drop it, but still.
If you don’t sign for it, it defeats the purpose…doesn’t it?
