I found my first geocache by accident - at the library in a hollowed out book with a library catalogue number starting with GEO. I was in the outdoors section and noticed this particular book had no business being there (it was Harry Potter), so when I took it out I saw there was an “official geocache, do not remove” tag taped to the front. Fun!! I signed the log and made a small trade. This has prompted my son and I to begin our geocaching hobby, and yesterday I downloaded the Geocaching App (green emblem/white squares). But when I went to look up the cache found at the library, it wasn’t on the map! This made me think there must be multiple geocaching apps. What other explanation could there be? I was the first to sign the log, so maybe it was new? If that’s so, how do i tag a found geocache without being the one who planted it? And if there are multiple apps, I would like to know about the major ones, please. Thanks for any help. My son and I are excited to find more.
