I (24F) am upset with my 2nd cousin (30 F) for asking my dad to walk her down the aisle at her wedding this summer.

For context, I am my dad’s only daughter and have not gotten married yet and my cousin lost her dad years ago and asked my dad to walk her down the aisle as she is close to him.

I’m upset because my dad’s first time experience of walking someone down the aisle won’t be with me and my cousin didn’t even ask me if I would be okay with it.

I just found out from my dad a couple days ago and when I voiced how upset I was about this both my parents said it wasn’t a big deal and that I was being over dramatic and selfish. I feel like my cousin could have asked another family member why does it have to be my dad and why did every assume I would be okay with it.

What do you guys think? AITA?
