As we know, Pashinyan strenghtened his grip on the country following his usurpation of power back in 2018. Especially post-2020 everyone was purged, be it the president, the judges, mayors, his own party members, human rights ombudsman, several ministers of his cabinet (defense, foreign affairs, economy, …).

Nowadays, Pashinyan claims he is on a “Western path”, while the West supports him with words only and openly states that it only wants a South Caucasus free from Russia. I deeply dislike Russia and support diversification from them and removing their guards at Zvartnots for example, but the regime´s propagandists are falsely stating that the Wests supports them under made up conditions. For example, that the Tavush villages should be given up while no Western institution or official ever demanded that. It was demanded by Azerbaijan/Turkey only, and of course their agent willingly fulfilled it.

But as a result of that, everyone going against Pashinyan is rebranded as a “Russian agent” to discredit them. Even openly pro-Westerners and former Pashinyan allies like Bever, Edmon Marukyan or Hayk Marutyan. This is especially seen on propaganda channels like bagramyan on TG or a certain subreddit here.

My question is: do people seriously believe this? In my family and circle, both diaspora and Hayastanci, most do not believe in those kind of lies. Anyone opposing Nikol can become a Russian agent nowadays within a couple of hours, even if they are radically Western-leaning. And democracy is of course only represented by Pashinyan, who is immune to criticism from Western countries and human right organizations, his own country and all diaspora-orgs.

What are your experiences, how many blind zombies do you think exist in real life in Armenia? Most are apathetic I think, but I refuse to believe that 20% or more of the country are devoid of any free thought.
