To start off I’m a barista and that day I was closing. We close at 8 pm and I get off at 9 pm, so that way me and my coworker have an hour to close together (yes it’s just two of us). I always let guests know in line if we’re a few minutes away from closing because sometimes guests will get to the front of the line and then proceed to just now think about what they want or they’ll jump back in line later to order something else, this is my way of having them really think right then and there about what they want, so they get it all.
With that being said, I let these couple of people in line know that we’re closing in 5 minutes, the lady next in line starts going off on me about how she’s here before 8 pm and that I have to serve her, I tell her that I will serve her and was not saying that I wouldn’t, that I was just simply letting them know, and she continues to say I have an attitude, repeats how she’s here before 8 pm and I have to serve her, I finally get to her order, she orders a 16 pump chai (actually who gets 16 pumps, that should be a crime, not being serious tho bc everyone likes different things and it ain’t that big of a deal, just thought it was funny), but we were out of chai, I let her know that, she thinks I’m lying to her, asking me how could we be out of chai, asks for my manager, and she left before as soon as I grabbed my manager.
