The issue: after flatpak SteamTinkerLaunch installation for flatpak steam, SteamTinkerLaunch cannot be used as it is not in the dropdown menu for compatibility tools.

I’m on fedora WS 38. I use flatpak steam & have therefore been trying to get the flatpak SteamTinkerLaunch to work, in order to mod TESIV: Oblivion. I have all dependencies, apart from pgrep, which dnf says it can’t find

sudo dnf install pgrep

No match for argument: pgrep
Error: Unable to find a match: pgrep

There is an issue with installing & updating flatpaks at the moment, for which the bug fix is right around the corner. This meant that installing via gnome software was not doable. However, there is a workaround. By downgrading ostree and ostree-libs, the cause of the bug being in version 2023.4-1.fc38, I was able to successfully install SteamTinkerLaunch via commandline as is required.

flatpak install com.valvesoftware.Steam.Utility.steamtinkerlaunch

Installation complete.

I can also now see it is installed by looking at the gnome software addons under steam flatpak. The github for STL flatpak installation says it may now simply be picked as an option from the dropdown menu after rebooting steam (which I have done with each try. I also tried rebooting my pc entirely, aswell as installing with it closed, neither of which helped), but it isn’t there.I launched steam from commandline/from my terminal, but the same issue persists: Steam acts as if it is not installed.

I’m stumped. Does anyone know why it doesn’t show up?
