I 38M live in a condo, it’s 12 stories in a downtown area with about 150 units. Any who has ever lived in a condo can attest to the HOA setting and enforcing tons of rules and regulations. Each resident has some rules they like and others they are annoyed by. We all live in the same place so most rules are designed to make sure everyone has to live by the same standards.

There is a beautiful rooftop deck that is great to use and entertain people in the summer. I brought over some family members and we hung out up there. One of the condo rules is that; “Each unit owner is only allowed to have a maximum of 6 people guests per unit. “ There were seven people total including myself (the owner). They HOA sent an email the day before because people were not following this policy.

One of the other residents came up to us in a very snarky voice and said “You are in violation of the HOA regulations, you need to read the email sent yesterday again.” This resident is one I have met before, she is always complaining at the HOA meetings. I was not fan prior to this moment and this may be where I am the AH. I replied to her “Maybe you should reread the email, it’s six guests per unit, I am the owner, and these are my six guests. Learn to read dipshit.”

She huffed away and my brothers laughed, my dad thought it was rude. AITA?
