Me 25 f and bf 25 male were having dinner at a restaurant. My bf made a comment about only knowing how to make Mac and cheese from the box, and I told him I knew how to make it from scratch. My bf looked at me and said “you should know how to cook bc you are a woman.” I got really upset and just ignored him the entire night. The next day he stated that what he had said was a compliment and wasn’t meant to offend me and that I was over reacting. I still don’t take it as a compliment, but it got to the point where I’m thinking maybe I amazing just wrong for over reacting and he’s right. AITA for ignoring him after that comment?
