I’ve been wanting to get a home server for so many years! I was finally able to afford this simple, but quite effective, setup. A Beelink SER5 Pro with 32gb ram and 1tb NVMe, a Seagate Blackarmor 220, a Synology DS213j, a simple gigabit switch and the ER605 router. The NAS drives sums up to 12tb, which is more than enough for my use.

And this has been a great learning experience, dealing with Linux, Proxmox and network. Had a nightmare trying to solve my CGNAT, tried SSH tunneling through a VPS, tried the Cloudflare Tunnel (which can’t be used for video streaming as it’s against their ToS), but in the end the simplest solution was to go with NGROK. But things are starting to work now and I couldn’t be happier.
