So I started watching this new show on Hulu, thanks to all my Mormon friends posting about how terrible the show was and how it didn’t represent Mormon women at all. Cough cough

So one of the girls looked familiar to me, and I looked her up on Instagram. She’s the same age as one of our daughters and they went to school together. We had 37 mutual friends on Insta and ya’ll I laughed so hard I about peed my pants! You know why??

The school this young woman attended was LDS owned. It’s a big deal in Arizona to send your kid to “American Leadership Academy”. That’s where people send their little Mormon kids to shelter them from the evils of public school. I have to laugh. I worked there once upon a time and the director was having an affair with a secretary, and there was all kinds of drama! I didn’t last long there. It was the craziest amount of Mormon BS I had ever seen. The owner didn’t want AP Psychology taught at the school because he didn’t want the kids exposed to that “garbage”. This also was the same guy who at one time was an Utah legislator who was accused of domestic violence and resigned his office in shame. Then moved to Arizona and made a fortune by recruiting tons of Mormon families to join his cult school.

All this to say…the people posting about how off this show is from real Mormons obviously have never lived in Utah or Arizona, because I’ve met some WILD Mormons in both states. There was even a swinging scandal in my own stake at one point. Everybody knew about it. So all this “gasp! We would NEVER!” Is such a crock of crap! Just reading through my posts you see the numerous amounts of grown ass adult Mormon men behaving badly, but it being swept under the rug. Kudos to these women for shining a light on the fact that Mormons be crazy AF too!
