i’ve bought a refurbished drive for a fraction of the cost of a new unit and checking with crystaldisk i’ve seen it’s basically new. the exterior has a slight dent but according to the s.m.a.r.t it’s as good as the ones i got brand new and used for a year.

i’ve checked a couple videos and seen some people also got a brand new drive when buying refurbished (according to SMART). some say the manufacturer can reset the SMART but wouldn’t that still show bad sectors and such again?
