This happened a couple of days ago, and I still cringe thinking about it. So, I was in a group chat with my friends, and we’ve all been joking about going on a trip for ages. I’d just won a decent amount from a bet a few days earlier, so I figured now was the perfect time to lock in some plans and splurge a bit. I fired off a quick text in the group chat saying, “Let’s blow some of this cash and book the best hotel we can find!” Only… I didn’t send it to the group chat. I sent it to my boss.

The worst part is that I didn’t even realize what I had done until hours later. I was going about my day like normal when I saw the message and my heart just dropped. My boss hasn’t mentioned it yet, but now I’m dreading every interaction, wondering if he thinks I’m irresponsible or something. The thought of trying to explain it makes me want to curl into a ball. I’m usually so careful about checking who I’m messaging, but I guess I got too excited this time.

TL;DR: Sent a message meant for friends to my boss about blowing money on a hotel, now I’m living in fear of what he thinks.
