Upon reaching gold and gold elite status you obtain free upgrade vouchers for internal upgrades.

The kicker is these are pretty much unusable.

My previous flights, despite requesting the upgrade nearly a year out they don’t get upgraded.

The biggest kick in the pants is they don’t refund them to you if you weren’t successful as they have now expired (after being sitting in upgrade pending status for 9 months).
