My (40F) 21 year old son is really into guns. He likes different kinds, and he likes going to the gun range. However, he likes to practice fanning his revolver in the house. He likes spinning it around on his finger and (in my opinion) playing cowboy around the house with this real gun. I told him to stop, especially since he has two little sisters he is normalizing this behavior for. He’s angry with me now, saying I’m being too liberal and I shouldn’t be afraid of guns. However, I feel like he should be more responsible and always treat it like it’s loaded. He assured me it’s never loaded, always has the safety on, etc. But it only takes one mistake to accidentally harm someone. The gun is locked away when he isn’t “playing” with it. He insists I’m being the asshole here. I feel like this is cut and dry, and he is completely wrong. What do you think?
