My (22)F sister (19)F has recently gotten engaged to a man (33)M who up until this point we all believed was 21.
For context my sisters has always been a very private person and has been very adamant on us not meeting her fiancé up until now.
We recently met up for my mothers birthday dinner where she brought a very older looking man who if I didn’t know his age I’d assume at least mid 40s.
Noticing everyone’s discomfort she introduced him as her long time boyfriend/fiancé whom she’d been dating since she was 16.
My parents turned very red in the face and looked visibly uncomfortable even angry but due to our location held back not wanting to cause a scene.
I on the other hand started bombarding them with questions to which she revealed they met when he was teaching as substitute teacher at her school.
she then dropped a bomb on us revealing she was 10 weeks pregnant, I tried pulling her to the side and explaining why her relationship was extremely dangerous and how she was being taken advantage of but she just got annoyed and started saying how I was jealous she had her life together at such a young age.
Her fiancé (Liam) not real name then butted into our conversation and started calling me a jealous old hag who didn’t understand “true love” I started to get visibly angry and then blurted out how he was a disgusting man for preying after her knowing she was a child at the time they started the relationship and how he was a creep and needed a serious reality check.
Liam then got extremely red faced due to everyone staring at us and grabbed eve(sister) by the arm and dragged her out of the restaurant.
when I arrived home after the dinner I opened my phone to numerous texts from eve and her friends all saying I was out of line for attempting to mess with their relationship and how their relationship was none of my business and I needed to keep my jealousy in check.
I still stand firmly on what I said although I should’ve waited until we were somewhere a bit more private so AITA?
