I have no idea if this is allowed but I still thought it would be a fun way to get the community involved if anyone is interested.

I’m a Huntsville based journalist. In 2023 I was lucky enough to befriend and eventually interview the son of Dr. Ning Li. For those not familiar, Dr. Li was a Chinese scientist who immigrated to the states and eventually worked with NASA and UAH in Huntsville, AL and became decently famous and somewhat controversial for a series of papers she co-authored from 1991 – 1993.

In her work, Li described a practical method of producing an anti-gravity field, which had never been done before. She received a lot of attention which seemed mostly positive due to her reputation.

Shortly after leaving the University to start her own company to expand on this research, she very suddenly drops out of the public eye and never returns. Never published again, no more public appearances at conferences like she did before, and many journalists were simply unable to contact her at all.

I approached this story in a general “local human interest” way for our readers in Huntsville, I didn’t know Joe Rogan and others would discuss it publicly and increase the exposure dramatically.

I say this because I make no attempt to say what came of her research or give my opinion on the manner because I don’t make a habit out of forming opinions on things I know nothing about. The goal was to A) clear her name of any and all traitorous accusations and B) share her story so more Huntsville citizens knew of her life and her contributions.

Here is the story:

And here is a slightly shorter post I made on the UnsolvedMysteries sub that goes over all of the same info for the most part.

My reason for writing this post is because I am set to interview her son again next week except this time it will be filmed. Since the story performed so well and had a big impact on George as well, I decided to finally go through with something I wanted to do forever but lacked the confidence, starting an Investigative Journalism focused YouTube Channel and producing videos to go along with these stories.

The video will hopefully accomplish a few things including:

A) Document how I learned about Dr. Li and my journey that lead to making George’s acquaintance and eventually earning his trust.

B) Recap all of general information contained in the original story, especially the information never shared before its publication. If someone finds the video with no prior knowledge of the subject matter, they won’t have to read the story before watching. It will be an alternate way of consuming the story.

C) Expand on the original story but documenting the response to it both in Huntsville and nationwide with stuff like Rogan’s discussion on it and etc.

D) Examine the personal impact it had on George who was able to clear his mother’s name of those who claimed she became a traitor to the USA and also shared the story of his amazingly talented mother with so many new people.

AND NOW THIS IS WHERE YOU GUYS COME IN!

Idk what % of people who visit this sub are familiar with Dr. Li now or were before the story but I know it’s at least a DECENTLY sized portion of the community. There are people here who have been sharing Dr. Li’s story for 15+ years and I want to know if there’s anything I failed to cover in the original story that you would like to see visited.

If something specific comes to your mind, leave a comment with the question As long as it’s not something brain dead like…

“Did your mom ever share top secret info with you and, if she did, will you now reveal that classified information and talk about her work with DoD,”

Then I will ask George and try to cover it in the follow up story. Also keep in mind that George also immigrated with his mother and English is his second language. Questions with overly complex wording or questions requiring large amounts of set up information will be more difficult.

I first learned about her form Barely Sociable and we have actually spoken on the phone 3-4 times now about various investigative related topics.

He will be providing some greatly appreciated help as I am still in the beginning stages of learning video editing and other YouTube skills.

I look forward to suggestions from those interested!
