I have a new EV coming, and currently I’m on the Octopus Agile tariff at home, which means my electricity price changes every 30 minutes.

I’d like to try and be smart about this, but it feels way to complex. Prices can vary from 60p/kWh to well below zero p/kWh, but never predictably.

I have my prices in HA for the next day or so, and I will have control of my charger and/or car too.

There is an option to move to a tariff with a flat low rate over night specifically for EVs, but thats boring. If I can be clever enough to get actually paid to charge my car, I’d like to try!

For anyone with this setup, how have you got it working?
