Well, it was a good innings. We received an email earlier this week, saying the following:
“On August 7, 2023, we will discontinue iFIT support for treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes manufactured before 2017. You can continue using your machine in manual mode and access built-in workouts. However, scheduled workouts on iFIT.com will no longer be accessible on your machine.”
Bit annoyed with this, to be honest. Usually when services become obsolete, they’ll send communications months, if not years ahead of time so you can plan around it. One week seems a bit rude. Right now, we don’t particularly want to spend a ton of money replacing an otherwise perfectly functional piece of equipment at such short notice. So for now, we’re just debating whether to try giving the manual mode a go and playing the workout videos via the phone app instead, or just cancelling the membership entirely - it’s summer, it’s nice outside…
Has anyone else run into this notification? And if so, any thoughts or plans for upgrading or looking into alternatives? Thanks in advance!
