Hey guys, I absolutely love hearing peoples individual or family ghost stories so here is my dad’s! My dad is a now retired ex cop in the UK and his story comes from the late 2000s. He’s a pretty plain talking guy and isn’t really one for paranormal or the supernatural and although he’s told me about this he doesn’t really like to bring it up!

He worked in a rural county where he was often driving between call outs by himself. He was coming towards the end of a night shift and was driving back into our local city, on this particular route he had to drive past this huge well maintained field, it’s basically a huge green space with a mix of sports fields and little trails. Whilst driving past this field he sees 2 figures seemingly ice skating on a frozen pond in the middle of the field. Whilst it was winter it was nowhere near cold enough for any frozen ice to be safe to skate on. So doing his job he pulls up and starts running into the field shouting for the to stop. He told me that as he was looking at them they simple disappeared, he was naturally worried they had fallen through the ice and were in trouble however when he reaches the pond there was no ice at all and the water was completely still.

My dad also told me he drove on to a local service station and asked them if they had seen anything similar and one of the staff apparently seen the skaters during his cigarette breaks too.

My dad only told me about this story as we were once at a local history event and we’re told that one winter I think in the mid 1800s the ponds froze over for weeks and many people went skating and it was then he told me that story.
