So I’ve been seeing a lot of Factorio in my popular feed on Reddit. This prompted me to check Steam for the current price and state of the game. I don’t really save any money for games, so I just wish-listed it a while ago and waiting for a new sale to come around to buy it. Then I remembered that I purchased it a very long time ago already. I went to the Factorio website to see if I could still log in. Lo and behold: After a password reset through my old e-mail, I was still eligible to download the game, even though it’s been a decade! It honestly surprised me, because in the past I had to purchase Minecraft and a few EA games again since they couldn’t verify that I purchased their games, even though I logged in with the same account.
So, just a massive shout out to Wube Software and their record keeping. Loved the game a decade ago, and I’ll probably fall in love with it again. It seems I have some catching up to do and making the factory grow once more.
