I am running Prowlarr connected to Sonarr, Radar, and Lidarr with 9 total indexers. 6 public torrent trackers and 3 private Usenet. By far and away the most successful indexer for grabbing releases is NZBGeek. I would estimate that on a given query, NZBGeek finds the best release about 80 percent of the time.

For the past month I have noticed that I have been having to do a lot more manual searching of files after the *arrs fail to grab anything automatically. Sure enough doing some digging in Prowlarr I found that NZBGeek had not been queried for a month despite my connection showing as working in Prowlarr and being able to go to the site and pull releases manually.

After about an hour of pulling my hair out I realized that the last query was on 10/17 and I had my VIP registration expiration for NZBGeek in Prowlarr set to 10/18 despite actually renewing my VIP for another year months ago. As soon as I updated this to an accurate date everything started working as expected again.

The UI of Prowlarr implies this is just used for sending a friendly reminder but this is NOT at all the case. It will stop querying the indexer automatically after the VIP expiration has passed. A bit frustrating that Prowlarr doesn’t even show an icon next to the indexer or anything, just shows up a working completely fine.
