Not to be pessimistic about the hearing next week but how much can we really expect if we’re hoping that people in the actual program will simply volunteer to testify? That hasn’t been the case for 80+ years. At best we get people on the periphery of the subject and second hand witnesses. We need subpoenas.

If it’s true and Congress has already been in talks with 40+ witnesses, then they likely already have lists of people of interest who they can pursue. Grusch even said he was capable of providing such lists in the last hearing. And allegedly Cheney is at the top.

If true keep in mind this man is 83 years old and in questionable health. If Congress wants answers they need to go after these kinds of people while they still can. The ones with the real info clearly have no interest in volunteering it, and many of them are getting old, and meanwhile we’re doing these slow disclosure processes, meanwhile giving the program plenty of time to cover their tracks and interfere in the process.
