I (19f) recently went on a date with a guy I like (22m). He’s friends with a mutual friend, and I’ve liked him for a while. I was really excited to go on a date with him. We went to a restaurant, and after we went to a local pub.

While we were talking, my date reached forward to grab a straw for me, and I instinctively covered my drink. I’ve always been worried about the risk of spiking, and it’s become instinct to cover my drink when I’m near a guy.

He clocked what I had done and instantly got upset. He said he felt insulted my behaviour and lack of trust. He ended up finishing the date early.
