I’ve seen some threads and comments from folks on Reddit attending the Sol Conference 2024. I’ll be going as well and am interested in meeting up with like-minded people who will be there. I thought I could start this thread so we can coordinate times and locations for meetups. I’ve never done this before, but I figured, why not?

When: I suggest we decide on a place to meet up after each day of the conference, once it wraps up. This will give us a chance to chat and debrief on what we’ve heard. Additionally, I recommend setting up a meetup for Thursday night or during the day, as many people will be arriving in town a day early.

Where: I’m not local to the area, so I’m open to suggestions. Ideally, we could find a spot near the symposium, so it’s accessible for those not staying close to the event. We could either meet at the same place each day or switch it up. A nearby park could work, but some people may prefer a location where they can grab something to eat or drink.

Who: Anyone interested is welcome. It would be helpful if we had someone to “host” each day, handling communication with the meetup location to avoid any issues. I’m happy to coordinate this and send out the details, or someone else could take the lead. I like self-organizing teams!
