I’m at an event/conference for people who’ve lost lgbt loved ones to suicide. Naturally a lot of people here are lgbt themselves.
There is one person here who uses “we” as their pronoun, and I’m not talking about when they’re talking about themselves. Instead of saying “I think they went that way, they said they were going to use the restroom” you say “I think we went that way, we said we were going to use the restroom” but that we is only referring to that one person and not yourself too. It’s created a lot of confusion all weekend and honestly given me a headache. Everyone is trying to respect their pronouns but we just end up confusing each other. Has anyone here ever even heard of someone doing this? At this point I feel like it’s just to confuse people, it has nothing to do with gender dysphoria or even gender euphoria if that’s even a thing.
And yes I’m aware I’ve been referring to this person as they in this post instead of we but admit it, this post wouldn’t make any sense if I did.
