I’m a gay guy from Europe who would like to know about homosexual people rights in China and Chinese citizens’ opinions on homosexual/Bisexual people, same-sex marriage, anti-discrimination laws, etc.

All I know from western media is that: * Conversion therapy isn’t illegal, and in some cases is even encouraged. * if your boss ever finds out that you’re gay/bi, they can even fire you because there’re no anti-discrimination laws. * the government has banned any kind of depictions of homosexual/bi people and same-sex relationships on Television. Not only on Television, but in other media too, like videogames, movies, drama, etc. I have also heard that they have even censored any references to homosexual couples on the covers of Boys love Manhua, Girls Love, etc. * several LGBT orgs have been shut down * Majority of gay and lesbian bars were forced to close * Prides have been banned * The government tend to reduce the visibility or not even report heterosexuality-related negative news, while boosting the visibility of homosexuality-related negative news. * etc

Is it all true?

I’ve seen polls where between 50-55% of Chinese population support same-sex marriage/unions/etc, but also others where the support is less than 10%. What do you think about? What would be the future for homosexual people in China? Do you think that Chinese citizens would support and legalize same-sex marriage and/or legal protections for homosexual people and queer folks in general in future? Do you think that the government would stop censoring any references to homosexual contents in chinese media?

Thanks in advance.
