Around 27 hours from the creation of this post, there is a second hearing about UAP scheduled, this time in the senate and focused on AARO and their work under new leadership - but I don’t see a whole lot of conversation about it yet. Can we get some more info on that, like:
Who will be present? Just AARO leadership and members of SASC? Are we gonna have anyone from this community present for the public part of the hearing? Any reporters/media? Would be great if we can get the corridors crowded again, continue to show public interest and engagement!
Is there any way to submit questions, if yes to whom? Would be a shame if all they talked about was the latest report, we don’t get a whole lot of opportunities for direct communication with AARO, and I’m sure we can come up with a few questions we’d like answered by someone other than Sue Gough for a change. Some things that would interest me:
Is AARO currently still employing a cybersecurity company specializing in plugging leaks and silencing whistleblowers?
Is AARO currently still being advised by a mostly anonymous council, accused of being run by alleged gatekeepers of UAP programs? If so, how is that still permitted? Has congress been made aware of who these individuals are by now?
Why is Kirkpatrick being allowed to publicly speak as if he were still representing AARO? He hasn’t been in charge for I think almost a year by now, is he still being kept in the loop about current investigations? If not, when was the information cutoff point - if he has not been involved for months, how could he possibly comment on current investigations with any degree of accuracy?
Have the many witnesses who felt insulted by AAROs handling of their testimony under SKs leardership been asked to come back for another interview, conducted in good faith this time?
Have cases that had previously been improperly solved or dismissed become reopened? The “Movie Production Lighting Balloons” come to mind. If so, will AARO publish a correction at some time?
Can AARO explain why it continues to refuse to use the proper term “NHI” instead of “ET/Alien”? And what exactly are their criteria for assessing the origin of UAP? What bar exactly would have to be met for an object to qualify as technology of non-human origin?
What tools are currently at AAROs disposal to investigate alleged UAP programs? Do they currently have Title 50 Clearance/Special Agent Status/Subpoena Power? If not, why not, and what is being done to get them the kind of access they would need to properly investigate programs that are alleged to be classified as “Above Top Secret”? Surely they can’t be expected to produce results if their primary method of investigation remains to call the CEO of Lockheed Skunkworks and politely ask them if they are doing anything illegal? And surely any companies, departments, programs, etc, that have been “investigated” in this manner previously would have to be questioned again with the new tools and methods granted to AARO - “IF” they in fact have been granted to them?
Why is AARO allowed to only ever discuss solved/mundane cases? If there are objects behaving anomalously in our skies, where is the data? If AARO can’t solve those cases, why is the data not made available for study by civilian scientists in order to figure out what’s going one? Is there any sort of communication about these incidents with civilian pilots? Surely any such information would be vital for pilots in order to ensure flight safety and avoid (near-) misses? What are their capabilities? Are there any observable patterns in the way they behave? Do they get “provoked” by certain actions? Is there a recommended protocol for interacting with UAP, should they become a hazard?
Feel free to add your own thoughts!
