Echoing u/sapientdinosaurs post here. We’d be talking about conspiracy against the interests of the people she was chosen to represent. No, it wouldn’t fix everything, but if that sentiment was echoed loudly enough it would be a start in demonstrating that the public isn’t just going to take a cover up sitting down. The more permissive the public is, the more they’ll take advantage of it.
