It’s probably fair to say that facets were introduced to allow heroes to change their playstyles to varying degrees. The success of each facet at this point has plateaued as there hasn’t been any major reworks of facets and the meta has been more or less figured out
DKs red dragon facet stands out to me with a 99.8% pickrate in prodota, and a solid 88.68% rate in pubs. This shouldn’t really be a surprise, giving a core the choice between a free cleave, or some facets with limited viability (frost dragon giving reduced healing, attack/movement slow, corrosive dragon giving very slight armour reduction and DOT) seems like a no-brainer.
It feels like Valve didn’t really appreciate how good a free farm accelerator on a hero who usually makes their mark on the map by grouping and taking towers, having to accept his creep farming being slower in lieu of being a tanky boy who can start fights and kill buildings.
Would buffing the numbers for frost dragon and corrosive dragon be enough? Corrosive dragon I feel is exceptionally underwhelming, the armour reduction numbers are meh imo and the dot harrass is there but doesn’t feel that impactful.
