Hello, I’m looking to pour a concrete patio in my back yard and it’s on a slope away from the house and from right to left. My understanding is I’ll need a retaining wall on 3 sides and then the house creating the fourth side. What I’m having a hard time understanding is how to avoid the retaining wall top being a tripping hazard at the bottom. If the retaining wall is flat, and I slope the concrete 1/8” per foot, at the end of my 16ft patio wouldn’t the retaining wall be 2” higher than the concrete? I can provide some rough cad drawings for what I am thinking if that helps but I imagine this isn’t an uncommon occurrence. Thanks in advance.
