Maybe it’s because I already had my fair share of it growing up, but the thought of going abroad and “experiencing new places” just doesn’t excite or motivate me. My mum and sister love holidays and are always trying to make plans for us to go somewhere but it feels like a chore for me — I’d rather relax at home. I love being indoors, sitting with a cup of tea and some YouTube documentary or a book. With holidays there’s always pressure to go outside and fulfil some unspoken schedule. I don’t do beaches or bars, not a fan of eating at restaurants (another thing I feel a bit weird for), and don’t get me started on the entire stress of actually getting to your destination. Planes are awful!

I don’t relate to those who say “I could really go for a sunny vacation right now”. I feel bad for just not being interested when a family member or friend asks if I’d want to go abroad. Is anyone else like this?
