Recently one of the most controversial topics I see going around is most people comparing the Genshin Impact Stamina system to Star Rail and Star Rail has most elements similar if not the same as Genshin Impact such as UI as its already well optimized by Hoyoverse over the years for all platforms and works.

The change from 180 to 240 is not an upgrade but a necessity similar to the resin change for Genshin at its release. All the similarities between players used to both games psychologically give the feeling of “Bonus stamina”

  • Exploration Gives drops

But what people don’t realize is that the systems being similar doesn’t mean they’re the same, most of this includes people saying Star Rail has “More Stamina (Resin/Trailblaze Power)” than Genshin without realizing the psychological illusion behind it, which is that star rail’s drops are again, similar yet different than Genshin’s, Genshin provides hundreds of drops in the 1000+ chests around the map.

  • Regional Seperation of resources

Star Rail’s Talents are restricted to the Path of characters as well as Lightcone while Genshin has more variety of talent drops with it all being obtainable in regional chests and exploration reward shops/trees (idk how to classify the regional reward trees but they give a lot for simple exploration), players end up with a head start in leveling talents without going for the domains.

  • Artifacts need 4 pieces for a set bonus

One of the things players forget about Star Rail is that off-pieces come with a major compromise to the user’s support/damage abilities, which even though the game allows to select reroll pieces, requires 10 relics to reroll to a single one which has random stats (unless the ultra-rare molding resins are used) and even after that, Star Rail has more sub stats than Genshin which makes the RNG harder to achieve willing on-piece relics with perfect stats.

Final thoughts

Genshin and Star Rail are in no way the same game, both have their different play styles and differences in their in-game mechanics, systems and thought processes, comparing the 2 just based on them being made by the same company or coming under the anime-gacha-gaming category isn’t a fair comparison.
