The event is just a here for the last few days so it’s very likely that at this point a good chunk of the community played it and they are basically done with it.
So now it’s a good time to discuss what people thought about it and if it was on par with other past events.
I think the gameplay of the various attraction was fun and none of them really overstayed their welcome
The exploration this year felt a lot better not only because the items you need to collect would appear on the map, but also because after a certain point you get a compass to help you find stuff more easily.
Another thing is that this year the map wasn’t made of mostly water like the summer archipelago and so moving around was much more interesting and easy.
Also the puzzles with the hydro eidolons were a lot better than most of last year puzzles and none of them felt annoying like last year ravens statues puzzles
In my opinion the bad part of this event was the story, I think the big problem this year is the same problem that I have with many story quest:
they focus too much on NPCs.
Maybe it’s just me but I kinda didn’t care for any of the event NPCs, not even idyia, and I kinda wanted to see more of the actual characters
In the last year summer event each new part was focused on one of the playable characters and we got some story/lore about them
this year on the other hand most of the playable characters cast could be replaced by someone else and it wouldn’t make much differences.
Kokomi is the biggest offender, while she is one of my favourite characters, for most of the event she was just there and she didn’t really serve any purpose until the end where she uses the McGuffin to save the situation.
they could have used any character in her place and the story wouldn’t really have changed much.
also this year story didn’t really give us much stuff about fontaine and the little things were stuff we kinda already knew
Overall I think the event was fine but it wasn’t really on par with past summer events
