Is it just me, or are the prices for analog gear ticking ever so slightly in the direction of sanity? I remember cameras going for some truly jaw-dropping sums one or two years ago, like Olympus Mjus for $800. Now the prices are still high, but it feels like maybe they’re creeping closer to pre-pandemic levels, and fewer people are jumping at the overpriced listings.

I recently bought a Mamiya 7 with the 65/4 lens for $2400 — don’t get me wrong, still a significant sum to pay for an old camera — but the seller had listed it at $2800 with no takers. He told me he paid more than $3600 a year ago.

A sign of hope for shooters? Wondering what people are observing?
